Connecting with the Universe - Is a Way of Growing Your Self and Your Business

As I have said on this page many times, connecting with the universe helps you get what you want. My book " The Ten Commitments to a Better Life" was written in one weekend. The way it happened was quite amazing. I had been writing a book about " new age sales" sort of a best practices for selling in the modern era. I had close to 150 pages written when my hard drive crashed. I lost the book. Thomas Leonard the founder of Coach University and literally everything that was written or created in coaching had also just passed away. I was devastated. I had just talked with Thomas a few months earlier as he made his journey around North America by RV, selling his book "The Portable Coach.".

One night a couple of weeks after my computer melt down, I could not sleep. Life was getting crazy for me as I had a full service advertising agency and the pace I was keeping was nuts. I was also slightly bummed out, Thomas, the book; life just was not getting any better. Sitting in my wife's most comfortable chair, I took out my journal and started to think about what I should write about. I thought that the biggest problem for most of my clients is they could not commit to the changes that they needed to make to have more in their lives.

At that point I started writing the ten commitments people needed to make to make their life better. I carried these around on a piece of paper, posted them in my office and even delivered a couple of short presentations on "The Ten Commitments to a Better Life" to a couple of business groups.

One Saturday morning armed with a cup of coffee and the spa channel on the satellite radio, the ten commitments were written. At that time, I felt as if Thomas was talking through me. I got the tingles and the hair on the back of my neck went up, as the words flowed through me like a mad man.

Sunday afternoon around 2:00 pm the book was finished. Although its only 75 pages, in my mind it is a masterpiece of direct contact with the universe. I added a self help guide and had an editor review it for grammar and spelling.

Today it is one of my really fine personal accomplishments, as one should always have a legacy project. Two copies sit in the National Library of Canada archives and to date, 1500 copies have been sold, given away or sent to publishers. Not a great deal of books, but the results have been fascinating. Everyone who I have talked to that has read it says they have received one small thing that has changed their life. Its not too often that you can create something that really makes a difference.

So, connect with the universe if you can, through meditation, prayer, contemplation or whatever. Listen to the inner voice and act upon what is given. It may be a simple book that makes a difference or it could be the next Facebook or Google. Either way you will be acting upon your inner passion and making your life more of what it is for you and what you supposed to become. Who knows the next Mircosoft could be just around the corner.

How to Have Your Best Year Ever

As the year comes to an end its always a good time to reflect on what has been happening in your life. This is not the time to make a bunch of ill conceived new year's resolutions. In order to have the best year of your life you need to get back to that place where you feel you belong. This usually requires some form of key decision making about where you are right now, right here right now. This is a great place to start. Get yourself a planning journal.

This book should become your bible for the new year. Start with a review of where you have been in the past year and where you would like to go. Take everything just as it is, bumps and all and write it down. Develop your dream journal so you can have a few new things on the horizon. The secret is that the power of attraction will move towards you as you start to get more in integrity about where you are and where you want to go.

The dream list should point out a few new opportunities. The other keys to having your best year ever, are to believe, that what it you are looking for this year will just show up. The only thing to be aware of is that it may not happen as fast as you would like. A good trick and one that is used by a lot of zen practitioners is to participate in segment living. In other words, taking sections of the year and building them into segments. You develop a focus through concentrating on focusing on each segment of your life.

Understanding everything about where you are now, what it is you are experiencing and then fully living each and every experience. Each segment has a focus so that everything your are doing has meaning.

As soon as you have faith in what it is your are experiencing especially with the truths that you experience and accepting then what it is that is given to you. The other key is to know it will show up. The biggest issue with most people is; they usually give up thinking or manifesting what it is they want too soon. Remember the universe works on its own time.

So this year when you go into that state of depression where everything you wanted has not shown up yet, go back to your journal and start manifesting a whole lot more. When you commit to something and focus in on it, it will have a better chance of success than not committing to anything at all. Its time to manefist you best year ever.

Abundance Can Happen as Long as You Commit to Something

I was thinking this morning about how abundant my life has become since I committed to seeing things differently. I used to be the type of person that never thought I had enough. Once I started to realize that I achieved everything I wanted just by committing to it my whole life changed. Abundance is about having enough and knowing you have enough. So how can you get to that place where you think you have enough.

Well having food, shelter, a car, friends, a job, good health the ability to walk, talk move around are all things we take for granted. I read on a web site somewhere that if you have money sitting in a jar or in a container on your desk or night table you are better off than 80% of the people in the world. That's an interesting statistic.

Most of us believe that even though we have everything we need more to be happy. I believe that you can find true happiness and therefore true abundance by becoming more of who you are and committing to keeping your commitments in life.
This means being aware, understanding, being balanced all the time and getting your personal needs met continuously. When one gets what one needs we then become more abundant.

Getting your needs met is about listening to your subconscious and committing to following what it is telling you. Too often we refuse to get our needs met and move away from our true in self and more towards what others want us to become. By not committing to what our inner self is telling us we get ourselves out of personal alignment. This lack of commitment to the inner self then does not allow us to get what it is we need and therefore we are continuously searching.

Abundance can be measured in many forms. Most of us still measure it in the form of material goods such as money or the accumulation of stuff. However by committing more to what your inner self is telling you on a continuous basis you start to feel as if you have it all because you no longer need a list of material things to feel abundant. Making a commitment to listening to your inner voice and getting your needs met continuously will allow you to discover those things that will help make you feel like you are living an abundant and happy life.
